Slow over-rate in Nagpur ODI - MS Dhoni banned for two ODIs

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been banned for two ODIs - with immediate effect - because India maintained slow over-rate during the second match against Sri Lanka in Nagpur. The rest of the Indian players were fined 40% of their match fee for the offence. Dhoni will be unavailable for the games in Cuttack and Kolkata, returning only for the final ODI in Delhi. Virendra Sehwag will captain the side in his absence. Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has been included in the Indian team for next two One-dayers to keep wickets in place of Dhoni. Ishant Sharma has also been recalled into the squad in place of fellow pacer S Sreesanth who is suffering from swine flu. There has been no other changes made in the squad announced by BCCI secretary N Srinivasan after a selection committee meeting in Chennai. Indian team for third and fourth ODIs: Virender Sehwag (Capt.), Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Karthik (Wicket Keeper), Suresh Raina, Ravinder Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Ishant Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sudip Tyagi, Praveen Kumar and Pragyan Ojha.


Nagpur ODI: Sri Lanka win to level the series against India (IND-SRL: 1-1|5)

Man-of-the-match Tillakaratne Dilshan struck his second successive century (123 off 113 balls) as Sri Lanka chased down 302 for victory over India with five balls to spare to level the series. Dilshan struck 12 fours and two sixes. He had smashed a career-best 160 in the first match when the tourists fell three runs short.For India, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit 107 - his sixth hundred - to set Sri Lanka a challenging target, after the openers were out cheaply. Virat Kohli (54) and Sachin Tendulkar (43) added 62 for the third wicket to steady the innings. Virender Sehwag fell for 4 and Gautam Gambhir made just 2 before he collided with the bowler and ran himself out.
